Johnny Gogan Book Launch - Tues 2nd March 2010
We were delighted to welcome Johnny Gogan to The Gutter Bookshop to launch his first novel 'Ghost Writers'. He was introduced by actor Donal O'Kelly.
Garrett Carr School Event - Thurs 25th February 2010
Our first school's event with new Irish children's writer Garrett Carr, author of 'The Badness of Ballydog' was a great success. Garrett entertained the children with his tales of sea monsters and strange goings on, although the children were also intrigued with Garrett's previous experiences of working in a fish factory!
Tiffany Murray Book Launch - Tues 26th January 2010
We were thrilled to launch Tiffany Murray's new novel 'Diamond, Star, Halo' in the store and much fun was had by all!
January 2010 bought snow to Cow's Lane, and whilst it stopped anyone shopping, it was very beautiful while it lasted!
Business as usual indoors though - here's Sinead shelving some new deliveries and w eput down some fake grass in the children's section - not sure why but it still makes us smile when we see it so that's reason enough...
Kids Xmas Crafts Day - Make a Tree Decoration
Saturday 12th December was our first Kids Event - a craft afternoon making Xmas Decorations. All went well and everyone who came along seemed to enjoy themselves (adults and children alike!) Sadly we can't put any photos of the children up as we need written permission from the parents (and I didn't think to ask for it...) so you'll just have to trust me that there were children present (most of the time).

We held our official launch party on Thursday 26th November and it is was a wonderful success - there were so many people we even steamed up the windows!

Author and friend of the shop, John Boyne, made a lovely introductory speech. Bob then welcomed everyone to The Gutter Bookshop.
The wonderful Anthony Horowitz made a surprise vist.
Writer Charlie Connelly was also in attendance, and publishers were also well-represented by their agents.
Whilst Anthony Horowitz signed books, Irish writers Marita Conlon-McKenna and Christine Dwyer-Hickey caught up. Bob is pictured with author Ronan O'Brien.
